What can I expect from a WAV vehicle?

WAVs (wheelchair accessible vehicles)  are vehicles that have been adapted so they can be used by a driver or passenger who is also a wheelchair user. Common features include a raised roof or lowered floor, and either a ramp or lift to provide easy access to and from the vehicle.

Are Ransome Mobility Solutions a long established firm?

Ransome Mobility Solutions are a family-run firm with three decades of experience in providing home and vehicle mobility aids to customers in Suffolk, East Anglia and beyond. Our used WAVS showroom, as an extension to our existing services, was launched in Suffolk in 2013 after many years of sourcing WAVs for our customers.

What type of WAV cars do you sell?

We sell all makes, models and sizes of wheelchair accessible vehicles, including popular family run-arounds and high end brands such as Mercedes. We do not supply new WAVs but all our WAV vehicles are between one and three years’ old and have low mileage.

It is difficult to come to your showroom, can you visit me?

Yes. If for any reason you can’t come to our showroom to view our WAV cars, then we can visit you. We will give you a full demonstration of your preferred WAV and either you, or your carer, can take it for a test drive.

What if I need vehicle adaptations, is this possible?

As a Motability accredited installer we supply a full range of vehicle adaptations and our experienced engineers will fit these on-site to the required safety standards. Even if you haven’t bought a car from us, we still offer adaptations to meet your needs.

Are all the WAVs you sell covered by a warranty?

Yes, all of our WAV vehicles are covered by a minimum six month warranty. Our vehicles are fully valeted before sale and are thoroughly checked both inside and out by our fully trained engineers and mechanics, so you can be assured of the highest standards.

I won’t be able to buy a vehicle up front, do you offer finance packages?

Yes. We know that buying a used car is a big purchase to make and you may want to spread the cost over a period of time. We provide a variety of finance packages through wheelchair access vehicle specialists Southern Finance. So, whether you want fixed interest rates, or extended payment options, or any other alternatives, we will find the right package for you.

I would like to part-exchange my car, but it is not a WAV vehicle, is that OK?

Yes. We don’t just offer part exchanges on WAV vehicles, but other cars too. We are happy for you to contact us in advance to give you an idea about how much you can get for your car when you exchange it with us.

We want to test-drive before buying, is this possible?

Yes. At Ransome Mobility Solutions we know how important it is that you have the right car, so we would encourage you or your carer to test-drive your preferred vehicle before buying to ensure it is suitable for you.

Do you offer MOTs and servicing?

At Ransome Mobility Solutions we offer a full aftercare service, and if you require MOTs and servicing after sale, we have all the facilities to do this on site. We know how important your transport is to you, so we can also offer a courtesy car in the interim to keep you on the road.
